Advertiser & Lending Disclosure

We are a free loan-request service, not a lender: lenders pay us, that payment may affect which offers you see and their order, and every rate and term comes from the lender.

This disclosure explains how Avant Lendings works, how we are paid, and what you should know before you submit a loan request or accept an offer. We want the business side of our service to be as easy to understand as the loans themselves.

We Are Not a Lender

Our service is an independent loan-request platform that shares your request with third-party lenders and lending partners; we do not lend money, make credit decisions, or fund, service or collect any loan.

When you submit our form, the information you provide may be shared with lenders in our network so they can decide whether to make an offer. Any approval, loan agreement, funding and repayment happens directly between you and the lender. We do not broker, arrange or guarantee any loan, and we do not act as an agent for you or for any lender.

No Credit Decisions and No Guarantee of Offers

Lenders alone decide whether to make you an offer and on what terms, based on their own criteria, which may include your credit history, income, debts and state of residence.

Submitting a request does not mean you will receive an offer, and receiving an offer does not mean you are approved. A lender may ask for more information, run a credit check, or decline your request. Many lenders start with a soft inquiry that does not affect your credit scores; accepting an offer may lead to a hard inquiry, depending on the lender.

How We Are Compensated

Lenders and lending partners pay us compensation for the requests we share or for borrowers who are matched with or accept their offers, and that compensation is how we keep the service free.

Compensation may affect which lenders receive your request, which offers are shown to you, and the order in which they appear. A lender shown first is not necessarily the lowest-cost option for you. Compensation does not change the APR, fees or terms that a lender offers you, and it does not influence the content of our guides, which are written by editors who do not know which lenders pay us.

Not All Lenders or Products Are Included

Our network does not include every lender, every loan product or every offer available in the market, so you may find other options by shopping elsewhere, including at your bank or credit union.

The lenders profiled on our compare page are a selection, not a complete list of the lending market. We encourage you to compare any offer you receive through us with offers from other sources before you decide.

Offers, APRs and Terms Are Set by Lenders

Every rate, fee, loan amount, repayment term and funding time shown in an offer is set by the lender, not by us, and the lender's final loan agreement controls over anything on our site.

Loan requests through our form range from $500 to $5,000. Lenders in networks like ours commonly quote APRs from about 5.99% to 35.99%, and some lenders may quote higher APRs where state law allows, especially for lower credit scores. Repayment terms commonly run 3 to 36 months, with some lenders offering up to 60 months on larger amounts. Some lenders deduct an origination fee, often 1% to 10% of the loan amount, and many do not charge one. After approval and a signed agreement, many lenders deposit funds as soon as the next business day, while some take a few business days.

Representative Example

A representative estimate for a $2,000 loan repaid over 12 months at 24.99% APR, with no origination fee, is about $190.08 per month, $2,280.94 in total repaid and $280.94 in total interest.

Estimate only. Your actual APR, payment and total cost depend on the lender, your credit profile, the amount, the term, any fees and your state. Late or missed payments may lead to late fees, collection activity and negative credit reporting, as described in the lender's agreement. Read the full terms of any offer before you sign.

State Availability

Lender participation, loan amounts, rates and terms vary by state, and some lenders do not operate in every state, so the offers available to you depend on where you live.

Lenders must follow the laws of the states where they lend, which can affect maximum rates, fees and loan sizes. Most lenders require borrowers to be at least 18 years old (19 in Alabama and Nebraska). Our service is not available in every state, and residents of some states may receive fewer offers or none at all.

No Affiliation With Avant, LLC or WebBank

Our service is independent and is not owned by, affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Avant, LLC or WebBank, and we do not offer, quote or service their loan products.

Our name is our own trade name and does not indicate any connection to those companies. If you have a loan with Avant, LLC or WebBank, please contact that company directly for account help.

No Fee to Borrowers and Not Financial Advice

Using our request form is always free for borrowers, there is no obligation to accept any offer, and the information on our site is general education rather than personal financial, legal or tax advice.

Our articles and calculators are designed to help you understand how loans work, but they cannot account for your full situation. Consider speaking with a nonprofit credit counselor or another qualified professional if you are unsure whether borrowing is right for you.
